Welcome to Southbank Surgery
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Please DO NOT come to the surgery or attend hospital if you think you have any of the related symptoms. Always TELEPHONE the surgery or call NHS24 on 111 for advice first.
Coronavirus starts with a high temperature or fever, dry cough and is followed by shortness of breath. More information about the virus is available on the NHS Inform website: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19

GET WELL, KEEP WELL
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription.
Suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
NEW TELEPHONE SYSTEM:
We have recently had a new updated telephone system installed. When you phone our surgery, you will be given a choice of options: 1 for emergencies, 2 for prescriptions, 3 for results, 4 for reception, appointments and enquiries. All calls to the surgery will be recorded for training and monitoring purposes. Please note that we do not take routine telephone calls between 12.30pm-1.30pm each day. You can still phone the surgery during that time for an emergency.
A Patient Access system for repeat prescriptions has been installed on our computers and we have now extended this to include booking and cancelling routine GP appointments. If you have not already done so, please come to the surgery at your convenience to collect a Patient Access Registration Form which will allow you to sign up for these online services. Our other methods for ordering repeat prescriptions and making routine GP appointments are unaffected and still available.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS - Please Note
Repeat Prescriptions are normally ready for collection 3 working days after being ordered. However if they are ordered after 5pm on any week day they will not be processed until the next working day and will then be ready for collection 72 hours later. There should be no need to check in the meantime.
NHS Scotland has improved the way it uses information from GP patient records. The aim is to improve the quality of care, help plan future health and care services and support research into new treatments. SPIRE stands for Scottish Primary Care Information Resource.
You have a choice about your patient record being used in this way and can opt out if you prefer. To find out more go to spire.scot or call NHS inform on 0800 22 44 88.
